I'm Watching You Work (the "App") is a macOS menu bar timer app created by Will MacDonald. The short version: it doesn't actually watch you.
What we collect
Nothing. The App has no account, no analytics, and no tracking. None of your data ever leaves your Mac. The only time it reaches out to the internet at all is to check for updates (see below).
Software updates
So you can stay on the latest version, the App periodically checks imwatchingyou.work for a small file that lists the newest release. This is an ordinary web request — like visiting the website — so our host sees your IP address, as any website would. The App sends no personal information, no identifiers, and nothing about how you use it, and it never installs anything without you clicking to update.
Cursor tracking
The eyes follow your cursor purely to animate on screen. The App reads the cursor's position only while it's running and only to draw the eyes — this needs no special permission, and the position is never stored, logged, or sent anywhere.
Your settings
Your preferences (such as default timer length and sound settings) are saved locally on your Mac and stay there.
Changes
This policy may be updated from time to time. Any material changes will be reflected by updating the date above.
